Alyssa Lucille Arrived Today, Monday, July 16, 2007 (click here for photos)

Thanks to all who supported Naomi's pregnancy through thoughts and prayers. She had a painful but extremely fast labor and delivery.

It started about 2:00am with some cramping. She woke me about 3:15 to say she thought this was finally it. By 4:30 she said she felt like it was time to get to the hospital because the contractions were pretty rough for 30 seconds about every 2 minutes. I wasn't sure she was really ready because she would still throw me smiles an little laughs in between them. My mom came down to watch Hannah about 5:15. Naomi and I got to the hospital about 5:25 an she was in a bed by 5:30 with pretty heavy contractions that were right on top of each other. She was checked and was 9 centimeters. The nurses called Dr. Grady to get him there quick but also made a backup call to the ER Doc. just in case. They let Naomi start pushing about 5:45. Mind you, no Epidural. It was too late in the game. About 6 or 7 good pushes and there was a coned head with short black hair protruding a couple of inches. It was kind of stuck there and Naomi was so exhausted. Just them in walked Dr. Grady. I'll never forget him looking down to see the crowning head and scrambling to find a pair of gloves so he could get to work. I don't thing he was in the room more than two minutes. Two little snips to give the head just the little more room it needed and at 5:55am out popped a beautiful baby girl.
